Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 Hits Mobile Next Week

The Old Republic is making a resurgence on a new platform. Today, Aspyr announced that Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 – The Sith Lords, better known as KOTOR 2, is coming to iPhone, iPad, and Android devices on Dec. 18, 2020.

The single-player RPG has been optimized for mobile, according to a press release, including the addition of touchscreen controls. The first KOTOR already made its way to mobile, and now this follow-up will finally be joining its predecessor on those iPhone and Android.

The two Knights of the Old Republic games are well-respected RPGs, though it’s often the first KOTOR that receives the most spotlight. BioWare’s Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is often hailed as one of the best Star Wars games, and made our list of the Top 25 RPGs of all time.

KOTOR 2 is a bit different; it was developed by Obsidian rather than BioWare, for one. I’ve yet to play it myself, but I’ve heard good things about how it explores the universe and various factions within it. Considering how much I enjoy the other times Obsidian has delivered fresh takes on existing universes, this is jumping up my backlog a bit. The holidays seem like a nice time to grapple with the light and dark sides of the force, I think.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 – The Sith Lords will go live on the App Store and Google Play Store on Dec. 18, 2020 for $14.99.
